In these difficult times of overcrowded unemployment lines, young adults have turned themselves towards more creative ways of earning for their living. New times ask for new measures, and our new measure is the world wide web. We’re not saying that the internet is a new thing, far from that, what we are saying is that it has finally reached its whole potential with larger masses. Online business is not reserved only for large corporations anymore.
The mere existence of cyberspace has opened up so many new possibilities, and a very big part of our entire employment actually comes straight from the internet. This means that we are not strictly tied to the location of our office anymore. Now our office can easily be a beach hut in the Philippines or a studio apartment in the East Village. That same simplicity is the reason why more and more people turn to the web each day, in hope of building a career for themselves or just making a few extra bucks. One of the more popular ways of earning money these days is vlogging. Quite similar to blogging, but instead of sharing your written word with the world you share yourself as a complete package.
There are different types of vloggers on the internet; almost any topic you can imagine can easily be vlogged about. Some of the more popular topics on YouTube these days are health and fitness, beauty, fashion, travel, cooking, business, DIY, yoga, meditation, languages, design, literature, music, film and TV, self improvement, lifestyle, technology, stand-up comedy, dance, and many, many more. We are living in a very big world amongst people with very different interests; basically every topic has its viewer. This diversity makes the market of online vlogging quite convenient for all the well spoken intelligent people, for them to find their place, and build a career out of the thing they love most. So how do you begin and how does it work?
First you need to choose a subject, which you’re passionate about, keeping in mind that your topic should be something you’re also familiar with, not something you have no knowledge about. Once you did that it is time to open up your YouTube channel account, and make sure you chose the right name, no numbers involved! Then you can start filming. It would be better to prepare a few videos before releasing your account public, because that way your followers will have something to watch. You don’t want to begin your vlogger career with just one video. In the beginning you should try to post more often so that your viewers will always have new material to watch when they come by your channel, nobody is going to be interested in what you have to say if you forget to say it for weeks or months. You should also attempt to edit your videos and make them pop out from the rest on YouTube. Market yourself through free social media platforms and don’t forget to be interactive with your fans. When you have established yourself and attained at least a few thousand views, you should try to partner up with YouTube and start making money from ads displayed on your videos. Once you come to that point you will know you became a true vlogger!
